Why People Ditch Barbers…
Apparently, this is why people ditch barbers…
Hey guys,
When I get new people in my chair they usually tell me why they ditched their last barber.
And It's always little things that might not seem like a big deal to us but leaves a bad impression on them.
Look, I get it…
Sometimes you’re so worn out you don't even notice these habits are turning clients off.
But if you're guilty of this stuff, fix it before you have a sad summer.
This is gonna be my one and only warning, guys…
DON’T wear headphones while you work
I know I know… seems harmless, right?
But here’s the thing… every client sitting in your chair could be your ticket to more clients.
Connect with them and when you’re done find out if they’ve got friends or family who need a haircut.
Offer them the discount because they know [Client's Name].
That personal touch is like magic for your business.
DON’T stop the haircut to talk to others
Man, that's a fast way to make your client feel like just another appointment.
Keep the focus on them; make them the star of the show.
Bonus tip–Remember their name.
If you get interrupted, don’t just say, “I’m with a client right now”
but “I’m with [Client's Name] right now.”
It shows respect and attention.
DON’T be so hard on yourself
This one’s more of a personal thing I noticed.
We all mess up sometimes, especially when we’ve been working so hard to chase our dreams.
Take a mental reset, learn from the missteps, and keep pushing.
Your clients don’t need you to be perfect, they just want to know you care.
Tackling these things can mean the difference between someone who's always waiting for walk-ins
and someone who can turn 1 client into 3.
That’s all for this week.
Talk soon,
Jorge
